Painting of Gulam Mohammad Sheikh, an artist from Vadodara city, sold for Rs.21 Crore

Gulam Mohammed Sheikh is a painter, poet and art critic from Gujarat, India. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1983 and Padmabhushan in 2014 for his contribution in field of art. He has been a major figure in the world of Indian art for more than four decades. His works are displayed in private and public collections including the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, USA.
